As the largest demographic group, generation Y or the so-called millennials inevitably influence various aspects of society, including the real estate market. With their specific preferences and priorities, this generation looks for homes that match their values, lifestyle, and constantly changing needs. In this article, we will examine what the millennial generation is looking for in a home.<\/p>\n

Location <\/strong><\/p>\n

Although everyone looking to buy a home pays attention to its location, the focus here is on the fact that for millennials, convenience is of paramount importance. People of this generation prefer homes located in vibrant urban areas or in proximity to amenities such as public transport, restaurants, and entertainment venues. An example of this is one of our current projects \u2013 Detelini Building<\/a>, which is located close to numerous educational institutions, parks, supermarkets, as well as Mizia metro station. Accessibility to workplaces and the possibility of walking or cycling are also important factors.<\/p>\n

Flexible living spaces <\/strong><\/p>\n

In their homes, millennials look for multifunctional spaces that can be used for work, relaxation, or for organizing social gatherings. On the other hand, a large part of them started to prioritize home offices or home fitness areas, as many of them work remotely and are looking for a healthy balance between work and personal life.<\/p>\n

Sustainability and efficiency<\/strong><\/p>\n

A significant portion of this generation is eco-oriented and actively seeks homes that reflect their commitment to sustainability. Energy-efficient appliances, solar panels, and home technologies are features that definitely attract their attention. They value ecological materials, such as bamboo flooring or recycled countertops, as well as homes with green areas. The impact of a home on the environment is crucial for this generation.<\/p>\n

Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is no secret that the millennial generation actively uses technology and relies on it to a great extent. That’s why people of this generation are more interested in homes where various technologies are integrated to make their daily lives easier. From automated lighting and temperature control to voice-activated virtual assistants \u2013 millennials, as technically literate people, appreciate the convenience and efficiency that technology offers. High-speed internet connection and a sufficient number of outlets for charging devices are also essential for their modern lifestyle.<\/p>\n
